Kanye is Headed to the White House

The rapper is headed to the White House on Thursday to have lunch with President Trump, the New York Times reports.

West, who has been vocal about his support for the president, is expected to meet with President Trump and Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, the White House confirmed on October 9.

West's wife, the TV celebrity Kim Kardashian, has previously met with Trump at the White House.

The musician previously showed his support for the controversial politician at Trump Tower in NY shortly after he was elected president in 2016. Set for Thursday, the meeting will apparently include lunch with Jared Kushner and a talk with Trump about Chicago and jobs for former convicts.

This will be the second time that Trump and West have met (that we know of).

He has also called Mr Trump his "brother" and has suggested both men have "dragon energy". The surprise resignation of United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley on Tuesday has left an opening for West to get involved with politics full-time, at least to Twitter.

And when Kanye ranted to the crowd at SNL last week about all the good Trump is doing, they were disgusted, it has been claimed.

West caused a stir after the season premiere of "SNL" on September 30 when he launched into a pro-Trump monologue while wearing a red "Make America great again" cap at the end of the show.

West has since apologized for his comments indicating that slavery was a choice.

"What Kanye said after we went off the air last week was one of the worst, most awkward things I've ever seen here", the 24-year-old comedian said. "You know how wrong about politics you need to be for like me to notice?"

"We've been friends for a long time", Trump told reporters. We build factories here in America to create jobs. I'ma break it down to you right now.

West issued strong public support for President Trump and his policies earlier this year.
