None are words typically associated with the 45th chief executive, who once stood outside the Capitol and spoke about "American carnage" during his Inauguration address.

A senior administration official said Mr Trump would "encourage congress to reject the politics of resistance and retribution, and instead adopt a spirit of co-operation and compromise so we can achieve it".

The 11-year-old's family reportedly endured the bullying for years and had hoped, in vain, that their son's enrollment in middle school would bring it to an end.

Rather than Republican Paul Ryan, Pelosi will for the first timein this administration take her prominent position as House speaker, seated just behind Trump's left shoulder for the speech. "They're going to say some things about the rhetoric of unity, but you can't at once be dealing with these divisive issues and then talking about unity". "If there is no Wall, there is no Security". And when it comes to the president's requested $5.7 billion in border wall funding, he's hit a brick wall of naysayers. Here was Sanders about 12 hours before he will enter the House chamber: "I don't think the wall is up for debate".
