XFL hiring a big name coach

While that league featured WWE-inspired flourishes like a race for the ball rather than a coin toss and players being allowed to select a name of their choice for their jerseys, the new XFL will focus more on football, according to league executives.

The XFL is set to begin play in February 2020 with franchises in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay and Washington D.C. No other head coaches have been announced.

Wrestling entrepreneur Vince McMahon is backing the venture again. "A lot of positives that way".

The 58-year-old Stoops was vague about the reasons when he abruptly retired less than two years ago. This just seems like a good window and opportunity to get back in and get a good feel of it.

The original XFL was disbanded following its inaugural season in 2001.

Harrison Barnes Traded To The Sacramento Kings Mid-Game
The Lakers star said Wednesday that he wanted to change the "narrative" that a player who "wants to be traded or leaves a Franchise" is "selfish/ungrateful".

But adding Bob Stoops is a great start. "So hopefully that's how it works out".

Despite Stoops' name coming up virtually every time a major college or National Football League head coaching job came open, he stayed in Norman until announcing his retirement before the 2017 season. But that's not necessarily a negative, he explained.

And the XFL is thrilled to have him.

Stoops was introduced in a news conference Thursday by Oliver Luck, commissioner of the XFL. "Bob's achievements at Oklahoma are legendary, and he's the ideal person to lead our team in Dallas".
