Elizabeth Warren makes unannounced appearance at Native American luncheon in Washington

Senator Elizabeth Warren targeted President Donald Trump during a campaign speech in Iowa on Sunday when she considered a run against the sitting president and suggested that he "may not even be a free person" in 2020.

"It's no longer just the Mueller investigation", Warren said. 'Keep America Great!' Donald Trump Unveils 2020 US Presidential Election Campaign Slogan.

She also slammed Trump over his tweets, calling them "racist" and "hateful" and called for her supporters to ignore the President's comments and not to merely respond to every single action of Trump's. She said the party should ask: "Are we going to let him use those to divide us?" "We're going to chase after those every day?"

Her visit at the event, hosted by the National Conference of American Indians, comes after she apologized last week to the Cherokee Nation for releasing a DNA test in October in an attempt to prove she had Native ancestry.

The offensive remark, largely characteristic of the 41-year-old's pugnacious and near-constant social media presence, is another in a series by the President and his son to engage in racism to smear the Massachusetts Democrat. "In fact, he may not even be a free person", Warren told an audience at a campaign event on Sunday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

"You know, here's what bothers me", she said.

Massachusetts Senator Warren officially launched her presidential bid on Saturday, inspiring Lowe to tweet that she "would bring a whole new meaning to Commander in 'Chief'".

"Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President", he wrote on Twitter. "Yeah. Donald Trump is the symptom of a badly broken system", Warren said.

Warren formally launched her White House bid Saturday in MA, grounding her campaign in the populist calls to combat economic inequality that have long made her a favourite of liberals.

Evans weighed in after Fox News analyst Brit Hume implied Trump might not have known about the Trail of Tears.

Warren has faced criticism from some Native people for amplifying sensitive issues around tribal citizenship versus ancestry, though she never claimed citizenship in a tribe.
