Julian Assange Arrested In London

Ecuador's police have detained an accomplice of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Ecuadorian Interior Minister Maria Paula Romo said on Thursday. "We've removed the asylum for this spoiled brat and, fortunately, we've gotten rid of a thorn in our side".

Since 2012, Assange had been residing in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he faced a probe over allegations of sexual offenses.

Manning, who had access to the computers, downloaded thousands of classified records to transmit to WikiLeaks in one of the largest breaches of classified information in USA history.

Sweden later dropped its investigation, but Assange remained at the embassy over fears Britain might extradite him to the United States in connection with WikiLeaks' publication of classified US government documents.

Assange's lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, tweeted that her client "has been arrested not just for breach of bail conditions but also in relation to a USA extradition request".

"Today I announce that the discourteous and aggressive behavior of Mr".

He listed a series of alleged transgressions by Assange during his time at the embassy, including installing electronic equipment that was not allowed, blocking security cameras, mistreating guards, and accessing embassy security files without permission. He was holed up inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London for almost seven years.

In 2006, Assange set up WikiLeaks that published classified documents on certain governments, including the US.

On Thursday, Ecuador terminated political asylum of Assange.
