SpaceX successfully recovered Falcon Heavy’s nosecone, and it’s going to space again

As shown in the video below, the rocket's two side boosters landed successfully at SpaceX's Landing Zones 1 and 2 at Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. 'Will be flown on Starlink mission later this year'.

The latest launch marked the first time Falcon Heavy flies using the new Block 5 hardware, which is created to last longer than previous versions without the need for refurbishment. Up first is this afternoon's launch of the Saudi Arabian satellite called Arabsat-6A, and it's possible SpaceX could nail all three of its rocket landings this time around.

While Mr. Steven was not in a position to catch the fairings from this launch, it was recently given a bigger net and is expected to be on hand in the future to make all parts of the Falcon Heavy recoverable and reusable.

Thursday's launch, which had to be postponed from the day before due to weather conditions, is the second since the initial trip in February 2018, when Falcon Heavy made a test flight with as dummy payload a Tesla electric roadster sent into deep space with a mannequin dressed in a space suit, which they called "Starman", in the driver's seat.

A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket carrying a communication satellite lifts off from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla., Thursday. NASA is now building its own rocket, the Space Launch System or SLS, to perform that lunar flight, but delays in the vehicle's development prompted NASA officials to consider now available rockets for the job.

Believe it or not, the trio of boosters aren't the only things that SpaceX managed to recover.

SpaceX and Boeing are vying to send humans to space from United States soil for the first time in almost a decade under Nasa's Commercial Crew Programme.

And even before that point, SpaceX was already celebrating the successful landing of Falcon Heavy's three individual boosters. Falcon Heavy's center core landed on the "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Liftoff with Heavy's new military-certified Falcon 9 engines was crucial in the race with Boeing-Lockheed venture United Launch Alliance and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin as Musk's SpaceX, working to flight-prove its rocket fleet one mission at a time, aims to clinch a third of all US National Security Space missions - coveted military contracts worth billions.

The payload fairings are clam shell-like nose cone halves that protect the craft's payload. Check back then to see if SpaceX can pull off a triple landing this time.
